Managing a team of around 34 in-house security officers and 2 security engineers working 24/7 over 365 days of the year, it is essential that you have proven leadership capabilities, preferably in an unionised environment, in order to provide effective management to the team. This role is also concerned with ensuring that risks and threats to the Company’s assets are clearly identified and that appropriate cost-effective measures to protect such assets are recommended to the relevant Business units. Additional responsibilities include working with the in house security system engineers to check that the correct systems are in place and adequately maintained to protect the site from security risks. You will also be expected to liaise with other internal departments, such as Group Security as well as external agencies.

Candidate profile: The successful candidate should have significant experience in a security/police/military environment with substantial management responsibility for security within a commercial or industrial organisation. Experience of constructing and managing a budget would be advantageous.

The successful candidate is already likely to be in a management position and be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of successfully managing people. The ability to demonstrate a wide knowledge of current security practices and risk management techniques is essential, as is extensive knowledge of physical and electronic security equipment. Other requirements include excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to work as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have the Certified Protection Professional qualification (or equivalent) and will be a self driven person, capable of taking decisive action when required.

Job description: Your main responsibilities will be to promote company shrinkage reduction programmes, manage physical security and manage the resolution of both internal and external theft thereby reducing shrinkage.
This must be achieved by working in partnership with the regional operations Manager in order to implement effective shrinkage strategies, encouraging and supporting the district management to do likewise. The day-to-day performance of the District Management must be managed in order to support district and store strategies, as well as business and personal objectives.

Key Responsibilities to include -

Physical Security

· Loss Prevention equipment is managed to its full potential.
· Provide loss prevention support and advice to head office and departments during new store opening process.

Theft Resolution
· External theft prevention and resolution is constantly focused upon throughout all levels across the region
· Internal theft is proactively highlighted and investigated in all designated stores.

Shrink Awareness
· All company shrink programmes are regularly supported and promoted.
· Manage and review a programme of audits of key operational area’s to identify exposure to loss.
· Formulate a regional shrink strategy together with regional management.

People
· Conduct annual appraisals and mid year performance reviews with each district manager within the region.
· Discuss and set personal development plans with each manager within the region.
· Utilise interviewing techniques for recruitment and selection of new loss prevention personnel into the region.
· Regularly review progress of loss prevention personnel to ensure ongoing development.

Candidate profile: Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

· Fluent Polish, written and spoken
· Ability to recruit, performance management and deal with disciplinary appeals. To have an understanding of P&L and experience of the Loss Prevention function within a retail environment. Be able to demonstrate project work.
· Demonstrate basic PC skills and people management.
· Experiences in a multi site environment and excellent time management skills.
