The various aspects of security have, historically, been addressed separately (notably by distinct and often non-communicating departments such as IT security, physical security, fraud prevention and alarm monitoring). Today there is a greater recognition of the interconnected nature of security requirements, an approach variously known as holistic security, "all hazards" management, and other terms. The emergence of digital technologies (eg video surveillance technologies and the digitisation and networking of physical control systems) have enhanced this integrative approach and greater interdisciplinary co-operation has been evidenced.  SSR® has specialist recruitment consultants addressing each of the vertical strands, but working across sectors, and very closely with their colleagues, thereby providing invaluable access to a range of skills not found in other recruitment firms.
